What’s the best way to raise money for a charity that is dear to your heart
David our MD decided the best idea was to cover himself in mud, climb through water, run through fire, dive in to 10 tons of Ice, swing like Tarzan from ropes, balance on planks, have an electric current sent through his body and much more…. and why not get the family to join in as well! And guess what they did!
TOTAL WARRIOR 2019 !! A 12k run with 25 punishing obstacles on the way. Obstacles such as the Human BBQ, The Plunge, The Shocker, Mud Moguls, Peaks of Pain, Worm Muncher and many more. A tough challenge for anyone.
So why?
For a long time Sue Ryder has been a favourite charity of the Shoesmith family, particularly Manorlands Hospice in Oxenhope, and so they decided that it was time to suffer a little to raise some money for a great cause.
“Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times of their lives. Whether they are terminally ill, caring for someone who is or if they have lost a loved one. Sue Ryder has amazing people to assist with the practical and emotional issues that are experienced at these times. We wanted to raise money for this great cause and doing it as a family meant the world to all of us. We felt united with one aim - to get through it and finish. We are all at different fitness levels and ages so it was tough, there were times when we all thought let’s go home but we didn’t. Looking back on the day now fills me with pride and although it was tough it was immense fun.
We really hope that people can find it in their hearts to help us in supporting Manorlands. We will be thankful of any size donation as every pound counts for charities like Sue Ryder.” Says David.
We are super impressed by David for achieving this alongside his amazing family and thank you for your support.
